1. Puthiya Manidha Singers: S. P. Balasubramaniam, A. R. Rahman, Khatija Rahman Lyrics: Vairamuthu This seems like the title song of the movie and has been composed blending various genres in a stylish manner. The veteran singer SPB seems to be in his youthful best while rendering this track with Rahman fine tuning the BGM to the next level of music just two lines of this song had created a stir now with the full song out the crowds have a reason to go gaga over.
This song has the elements of a duet and has been handled admirably by the oscar star who has composed a very cathcy tune there seems to be a tinge of sadness in the song but is sweet honey to the ears.
Starting with a mass appeal this song will have the theatre in roars especially for the lyrics Ivan Perai Sonnadhum, Perumai Sonnadhum, Kadalum Kadalum Kai Thattum! Also don miss out the enthira enthira bit by Hariharan. The lyrics by Vairamuthu shows Rajini's Mass appeal. Rahman does an interesting turn in this song by bringing in Sadhana Sargam who shows her class, This song is already a chartbuster.
4. Chitti Dance Showcase Singers: Pradeep Vijay, Pravin Mani, Yogi B Additional Arrangements and Programming: Pravin Mani
This song is a fast number which has a peppy tune with a number of instruments used. Accompanied by a rap by Yogi B this song is one more of A.R Rahman's master piece
5. Kilimanjaro Singers: Javed Ali, Chinmayi Lyrics: P. Vijay Additional Vocal Arrangements: Clinton Cerejo
Javed ali has given this song his all with his modulations and Chinmayi is not far behind. The lyrics by Vijay strike a chord with the master Rahman.
6. Boom Boom Robo Da Singers: Yogi B, Keerthi Sagathia, Swetha Mohan, Tanvi Shah Lyrics: Kaarki
The boom boom start for this song doesn't die till the end with Yogi B capturing the mood of the song. The mixing in this song is its highlight.
7. Irumbile Oru Idhaiyam Singers: A. R. Rahman, Kash’n'Krissy Lyrics: Kaarki English lyrics: Kash’n'Krissy
Like the lyrics of the song Irumbile Rahman seems to have given a metalic music theme for this song with a fast and catchy tune. As the song progresses the tune seems to be inspired by Rahman's songs but this song is on a totally different scale and presented magnificently.
The Remake Rockers, Raja and his brother Jayam Ravi have completed their shooting stint of the telugu movie 'Kick's remake in Tamil 'Thillalangadi'. Very recently Thillalangadi Audio was launched and it was aired on Sun Tv the distributors of the film with the duo's father being the producer of the flick the film is sure to enthrall family audience. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored some chart busting numbers with Tamannaah shaking her legs. The film is slated for July 23 release with Thillalangadi Trailer being aired frequently by Sun Picures ,It is sure to see a house full turnout during its opening week at Thillalangadi Movie Running Theatres
Director Shankar's home productions S films have taken a bold attempt by launching Naga of marmadesam fame as a director.Time and over again we have seen the thrills of a horror flick being built up by darkness, creepines, long hairs, revenge, flying objects and so on. Those of you who are tired of it and wished to see horror films in a different angle your wait ends with this offering from Naga. This Supernatural thriller is built around family emotions , bonding and sentiments the most offbeat theme one could attempt for in a horror thriller. Ananthapurathu Veedu also has the ghosts playing lead roles instead of the usual expected baddie ones.Balu(Nandha) makes his journey to his ancestral home along with his wife Revathy(Chaya Singh) and his child Anand(Aryan). On reaching his ancestral home the family faces some unusual happenings which make them a little bewildered. The family then is put up with a next hiatus where a stranger confines them to their home which gives a different dimension to this film with little bit of fun, mystery and qualifies as an absolute family entertainer. Aryan has excelled in his part with the little emotions he does and makes us feel like we have seen a great performance form a child artist after a long time. Nandha fits the bill perfectly and he seems to make the role appear as a cakewalk to him after his performance in Eeram the actor now has gone places. Chaya sing portraying the part of confined wife has given a lot of life to the film. The match winner is of course Naga for this brilliant attempt he seems to have transferred his small screen brilliance with ease. The viewers are glued to their seats by the exciting sequences such as the automatically delivered sms . Ramesh's Music is not a chart-buster but his background score captures the mood of the film. S pictures whose last venture couldn’t rock the box office can cherish upon this offering which is already getting rave reviews. The credits too had a surprise showing veedu has a character . Naaga truly deserves critical acclaim for thinking in a manner where most other directors would prefer to think alone. Kudos to Naga and Shankar for the execution of such a brilliant film emphasizing the value of family ties through a horror theme. On the whole the film is a refreshing and a very bold attempt.
Set up in the pre independence era Madharasapattinam one of the touted toasts of Tamil films fails to make us say "Cheese" on seeing it. Director Vijay being an assistant to Priyadarshan who has a penchant for period films seems to have been inspired by him to make a period film but has greatly failed to cope up with the art of narration in the film. The film opens with Amy (Amy Jackson) in London who is waiting for her last call and wishes to pay a visit to India and on her jaunt along Chennai City she takes us to her flashback to Madhrasapattinam.Amy(Amy Jackson) is the enchanting daughter of the then British Governor and Ilamparithi,(Aarya) is a Dhobi as well as a wrestler. How these two fall in love and what happens in a predictably shocking climax is narrated from the eyes of the Amy .The film seems to have been inspired big time by the Oscar film Titanic of James Cameron which had the old lady glimpsing on her flashback and the similarities don’t stop with this. As in Titanic even here the heroine gets engaged to a baddie and falls in love with another man. The whole film lacks clarity especially the first half. The film from its narrative aspect never enthralls the viewer who is hardly interested in the film. The face saving stunt comes from Aarya who excels in his role as dhobi cum wrestler. Amy Jackson impresses all with her looks and there is nothing more to quote about her. Late actor Cochin Hanifa has done his part to perfection whilst other character artists like Ms Bhaskar, the British cop do not get much scope to perform. Very few scenes spring up the audience and some are bound to get puzzled with the English dialogues with Tamil subtitles which makes the film well out of reach for the suburbs and villages. The reason for a British Governor's Daughter falling in love is unconvincing that one feels the Director could have come up with a better one. The highlights of the film are the art direction and cinematography which never falls short of our expectations. Cinematographer Nirav Shah has come up with a great visual treat which has been supported by Selvakumar's Art. Both of them should be commended for their efforts which makes the film worth watching.GV Praksah's music which was hardly impressive will be forgotten once the film is over. We can also understand the amount of pain taken by director Vijay to recreate the old madras magic which wins him many applause. It is not every weekend that we come across a period film and we all wish Vijay could have done far better in his Titanic inspired Tamil flick. On the whole we must applaud Vijay and the producer Kalpathi S Agoram for this brave attempt but not surely the best of attempts.

Star Watch: Meera Jasmine- On Four Friends And her Love Life:
Director Saji Surendran who has stolen the limelight with his last outing, Happy Husbands which was both commercially and critically acclaimed by the media has kick started his next venture Four Friends with Lead actors Jayaram, Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban alongside the beautiful Meera Jasmine. As the title suggests the film will be about four friends.Four Friends will be shot in various locations both at India and abroad. The script is written by Krishna Poojappura and production is taken care of by Tomichan Mulakupadam under the banner of Mulakupadam Films. With Four Friends shooting schedule on full swing we can expect the Film to hit the screens soon.In the interim Meera Jasmine who is part of this film seems to be having her kitty full with her Tamil films Adhi Narayanaand Malaiyoor Mambattiyaan are in their post-production stage and her other Tamil film Pen Singam still having average fare in theatres also Meera Jasmine is working on the Malayalam film, Pattinte Palazhy. This actress doesn’t seem to leave her personal life far behind. The recent news doing the rounds that Meera Jasmine had a break up with Mandolin Rajesh seems to be a well carved rumor as one found Meera cuddling with Mandolin Rajesh.Mandolin Rajesh brushed aside the rumors by being a surprise guest of Meera's birthday party on the on the sets of her Malayalam film Pattinte Palazhi in Mysore. Meera jasmine was beguiled by this surprise visit and took a bite of the cake offered by him with her charming smile in her new incarnation sporting a slim look. Post birthday celebrations the actress broke the icing on the cake that Rajesh and her share a great relation calling the split as a media hype. The actress feels Rajesh is the perfect person for her and feels He is already an inherent part of her life. Meera also told that Marriage was on the cards soon and if things go as planned they will get married according to the Hindu customs. The beautiful actress feels that her spiritual trips to holy place like Mookambika, Shirdi and Raghavendra Swami temple in Mantralaya built a strong bridge between her and Rajesh which Meera believes is god's wish or destiny. On a cynical note - We have to wait and watch whether the birthday party was arranged to make the rumor a myth and create a perfect pedestal for the pair's marriage or just another media hype?

The film opens with the veera song in the background which has Veeraya alias Veera ( Vikram) jumping from an altitude which most of us would prefer to see on screen and not venture to has Mani Ratnam’s name written all over it. The ravishing Ragini ( Aishwarya Rai Bachan) in picturesque locations throughout the film is a delight to watch. Ravanan is all about Ramayana being retold in the modern style. Veera kidnaps Ragini to take revenge on the police force led by Dev (prithvi raj). Why Veera kidnapped Ragini is told in a predictable flashback and then Dev’s search in pursuit of his wife Ragini form the crux of the story. Even though there is nothing new in the story. The realistic screenplay with mind-blowing cinematography by Santosh Sivan makes you in awe of the film till the end. The film is initially little confusing but opens up quite well as it progresses . The film lacks pace at times. The cinematography of usure pogudhey song deserves special mention.Karthik, Prabhu, Priyamani all do their minuscule roles justice. Prabhu and Priyamani impress more than Karthik. Rahman as promised delivers the best background score one expects. The Songs give a lot of life to the film. Dialogues by suhasini remind us that Sujatha is no more. Vayapuri as eunuch and Ranjitha of Nithyanandha fame are just passing clouds making minimal impact. Vikram is the on screen villainous hero who carries the film on his shoulders and Santosh Sivan is the off screen master who captures the film with his lens eye. This film Makes one feel best of Mani Ratnam’s filmmaking is seen only in glimpses. On the whole Ravanan is a film which promised a lot seemed to deliver a lot but fails to satisfy the viewers having great expectations. The fact that Mani Ratnam is a no nonsense film maker must be taken into account and he must be applauded for walking the thin line without falling into the commercial pit. The film is bound to get mixed reviews and some may even seem to like the Ravanan of Ramayanam more than Lord Rama as his acts are justified and the perspective each one looks at the epic might change whilst some may feel it was a lackluster film. On the whole Ravanan glorifies the Ravanan inside all of us and Vikram is truly the ten headed Ravanan of the film.
Bottom Line: Ravanan is not an epic movie. It is just an epic as a movie
Singam Roars Not Loud Enough To Be Heard In Kerala:
The duly marketed movie Singam is in little bit of trouble to cross the Tamilnadu border. The film which is scheduled for this Friday Release may not see the green light from Kerala. From a reliable source the information one gets is that Big pictures are in a big fix as they had released the much hyped Hrithik starred ‘Kites’ in more screens then they were allowed to.
Once this issue came up to light to the eyes of the Film Distributors Association Kerala (FDAK) they seem to have taken a firm stand to Enforce a Red Card on Big Pictures so as to stall their upcoming projects from seeing the Light at their silver screens. Another neighboring state Karnataka is taking up a similar stand.
So from the sequence of things Sun Pictures Singam will find it tough to race from Tamilnadu as it has a tight rope around it.
The much hyped sequel to one of the classic movies by Marvel is worth a watch but the first part raced it by everything except time and the next big factor is the actor Robert Downey Jr who has done his part again with utmost ease. This time around the director decides to play a little with the life of the Iron Man.
The movie opens with an old man seeing the video of Tony stark on his deathbed and his son(Ivan) filled with mystery with a bird the old man succumbs to the last call of his time and his son shouts with vengeance and the rest is as expected
The iron man is introduced in style flying high at the stark expo and shaking his leg with beautiful babes. The backdrop of the sequel is all about the iron man weapon posing a security threat so the Government wants Tony stark to surrender it and playing a major part of this ploy is Justin hammer(Sam Rockwell) He executes his part reasonably well. How Justin hammer (cash) and Ivan(brain) cash in and clash against The iron man forms the crux of the story.
Other than that the show stopper is the ravishing Scarlett Johansson who comes as a legal ad visor to stark industries Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Pots does it again in style Samuel l Jackson does not get a chance to make his presence felt but still fits the bill. The new man on the block as officer Rhodes Don Cheadle has a major part in this film and excels himself. The director has too many hands to handle which he must be commended for At the same time some might not prefer too many hands which some might not Recommend for too.
The film's highlights will be the background score , Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson and the sarcasm of the film even at the climax when the person who demanded Tony Stark to hand over the Iron Man suit forced to present Tony a medal. On the whole Iron Man 2 by director Jon Favreau is a well knitted film with support from some amazing actors and would have been even better if they had cut short some of the action sequences which at times look like play station stuff and always the expected happened throughout the film Which was little unrealistic even though it was a sci-fi film.
Bottom-line: Iron man 2 is a delight to watch but not the double delight which all of us expected
